Strength :: Math-Based Animation Loads Faster and Smoother than Pixels

Rather than transmitting each individual pixel-filled frame over the internet to be played in rapid succession, flash can produce a mathematical algorithm which drastically cuts the number of frames (we call them "Key Frames") and therefore pixels, needed to be transmitted. This both increases the quality of the animation as well as keeps the file size small, quick, and smoothly downloaded.

Weakness :: Search Engines Can't Read Flash

While artists love to build entire websites in Flash, the fact remains that search engines can't read them. They skip entirely over them. Think of Flash like Kryptonite for SEO.
